பிரதான ஆசாரியனுடைய தரிசனம்
1அவர் பிரதான ஆசாரியனாகிய யோசுவாவை எனக்குக் காண்பித்தார்; அவன் யெகோவாவுடைய தூதனுக்கு முன்பாக நின்றான்; சாத்தான் அவனுக்கு விரோதம் செய்ய அவன் வலதுபக்கத்திலே நின்றான். 2அப்பொழுது யெகோவா சாத்தானை நோக்கி: யெகோவா உன்னைக் கடிந்துகொள்வாராக; சாத்தானே, எருசலேமைத் தெரிந்துகொண்ட யெகோவா உன்னைக் கடிந்துகொள்வாராக; இவன் அக்கினியிலிருந்து தப்புவிக்கப்பட்ட கொள்ளி அல்லவா என்றார். 3யோசுவாவோ என்றால் அழுக்கு உடை அணிந்தவனாகத் தூதனுக்கு முன்பாக நின்றிருந்தான். 4அவர் தமக்கு முன்பாக நிற்கிறவர்களை நோக்கி: இவன்மேல் இருக்கிற அழுக்கு உடைகளைக் களைந்துபோடுங்கள் என்றார்; பின்பு அவனை நோக்கி: பார், நான் உன் அக்கிரமத்தை உன்னிடத்திலிருந்து நீங்கச்செய்து, உனக்குச் சிறந்த உடையை உடுத்தினேன் என்றார். 5அவன் தலையின்மேல் சுத்தமான தலைப்பாகையை வைப்பார்களாக என்றார்; அப்பொழுது சுத்தமான தலைப்பாகையை அவன் தலையின்மேல் வைத்து, அவனுக்கு ஆடைகளை உடுத்தினார்கள்; யெகோவாவுடைய தூதன் அங்கே நின்றார். 6யெகோவாவுடைய தூதன் யோசுவாவுக்குச் சாட்சியாக: 7சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்: நீ என் வழிகளில் நடந்து என் காவலைக் காத்தால், நீ என் ஆலயத்தில் நியாயம் விசாரிப்பாய்; என் ஆலய வளாகங்களையும் காவல்காப்பாய்; இங்கே நிற்கிறவர்களுக்குள்ளே உலாவுகிறதற்கு இடம் நான் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிடுவேன். 8இப்போதும், பிரதான ஆசாரியனாகிய யோசுவாவே, நீ கேள்; உனக்கு முன்பாக உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிற உன் தோழர்களும் கேட்கட்டும்; இவர்கள் அடையாளமாயிருக்கிற மனிதர்கள்; இதோ, கிளை என்னப்பட்டவராகிய என் தாசனை நான் வரச்செய்வேன். 9இதோ, நான் யோசுவாவுக்கு முன்பாக வைத்த கல்; இந்த ஒரே கல்லின்மேல் ஏழு கண்களும் வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது; இதோ, நான் அதின் சித்திரவேலையை நிறைவேற்றி, இந்த தேசத்தில் அக்கிரமத்தை ஒரே நாளிலே நீக்கிப்போடுவேன் என்று சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார். 10அந்நாளிலே நீங்கள் ஒருவரையொருவர் திராட்சைச்செடியின்கீழும் அத்திமரத்தின்கீழும் வரவழைப்பீர்கள் என்று சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார் என்றார்.
Introduction
Zechariah 3
The vision in the foregoing chapter gave assurances of the re-establishing of the civil interests of the Jewish nation, the promises of which terminated in Christ. Now the vision in this chapter concerns their church-state, and their ecclesiastical interests, and assures them that they shall be put into a good posture again; and the promises of this also have an eye to Christ, who is not only our prince, but the high priest of our profession, of whom Joshua was a type. Here is, I. A vision relating to Joshua, as the representative of the church in his time, representing the disadvantages he laboured under, and the people in him, with the redress of the grievances of both. 1. He is accused by Satan, but is brought off by Christ (Zac 3:1, Zac 3:2). 2. He appears in filthy garments, but has them changed (Zac 3:3-5). 3. He is assured of being established in his office if he conduct himself well (Zac 3:6, Zac 3:7). II. A sermon relating to Christ, who is here called "The branch," who should be endued with all perfections for his undertaking, should be carried triumphantly through it, and by whom we should have pardon and peace (Zac 3:8-10).
